Our Mission

The mission of the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas is.. To provide and maintain affordable quality housing for economically disadvantaged people. To empower them to attain social and economic self-sufficiency; and To improve the quality of life in the community.

Agency Profile

Since 1947, the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas has played a key role in providing housing options for low and moderate income residents in the Greater Las Vegas Area. The HACLV is one of the largest housing authorities in Nevada, and is currently providing assisted housing for more than 16,000 family members. The authority consists of federally funded family developments, senior housing, scattered site housing, affordable housing units, and section 8  housing choice vouchers.

Are Your Aware?

  • The HACLV encourages lower income working families to apply?

  • That working families currently get preferences for public housing.

  • There are very reasonable maximum ceiling rents; so, as your income increases, your rent will stay affordable

  • If your wages decrease, your rent may go down too..
